David "Dave" Gailord Burch

David “Dave” Gailord Burch of Cedar Falls, Iowa, age 78, passed away on January 12, 2026. He was born June 8, 1947, in Waterloo, Iowa, a son of the late John Burch and Mary “Elaine” Tyler Burch. Dave married Sally Shook on November 12, 1966. He worked proudly at the John Deere Foundry for 25 years, where he retired in 1997. During his free time, he enjoyed spending time at the Mississippi River fishing for walleye on the East Channel, traveling with his wife and spending time with family. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elaine Burch, sister, Ruthie Gaffney and nephews, Geoff and Jay Gaffney. He is survived by his loving wife, Sally Burch, one brother Ronald (Judy) Burch and two sons, Todd (Amy) Burch of Waterloo and Anthony “Tony” (Shelly) Burch of Waterloo. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Haley (Matthew) Davidson, Madison (Jared) Konrardy, Darian Burch, Sawyer Burch, Bobbi Burch, Colton Burch, Karis Burch, Elizabeth Norris and Taylor (Salvatore) Mancini and three great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren coming soon.
