Marilyn (Lynn) Alden Connor Glandorf, 95, of Sarasota, Florida, has gone to be with Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She left this earthly world on Friday morning, March 15th, 2024, passing peacefully in her sleep and surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of her home in Sarasota, Florida.

Marilyn was born in Hartford, CT on June 7th, 1928, to parents, Charles Albert Connor and Ruth Louise Alden and Sister, Nancy. She received her primary education in Fairhaven MA where she attended Sacred Hearts Academy with her Sister, Nancy. In 1941, She won first place at the Belmont Music Festival in Belmont, MA for her classical piano performance. The family moved to Sarasota in the summer of 1942 where Marilyn completed her secondary education at Sarasota High School in 1945. Shortly after arriving to Sarasota, Marilyn entered and won first runner up in the Sara DeSoto Pageant. During high school, Marilyn was approached by 20th Century Fox Film Studios to audition for "Sunday Dinner for a Soldier". She completed her screen test and was set to star in the film, when the Studio discovered she was not of age. Marilyn caught the modeling/acting bug early and set her sights on New York City in the Spring of 1947. She was a classically trained pianist, having studied at the New England Conservatory of Music where she received her radio rating from Arthur Fiedler, Conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra in Boston, MA. Marilyn went on to graduate from Barbizon School of Modeling in 1949 and was featured in such notable magazines as Look Magazine and continued to model on Broadway for Edelman Clothiers and Shoes. After a tragic car accident ended her modeling career, Marilyn returned home to Sarasota and began college at Wall Business School before marrying her first husband in 1950. She eventually received her bachelor's degree from University of South Florida and taught both in the Manatee and Sarasota County Public School system, before retiring from the English Department of New College in 1986.

Marilyn will be fondly remembered by many for her incredible beauty, charm, and wit, her extraordinary musical talent, and her indomitable spirit. She was simply captivating and was always happy, no matter the weather. She never knew a stranger and was always quick to forgive. She loved to write poetry, sing and play the piano, garden, and read. Marilyn shared these gifts freely along with her Gift of Gab. She was a lifetime member of The Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Church in Sarasota and The Redeemer Choir, The Daughters of the King, Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, and The Alden Kindred of America, MA Chapter.

Marilyn is survived by her Husband, Frank J. Glandorf, Sister, Nancy (Connor) Hoigne', Her Three Children, Douglas Wilson, Victoria (Binz) Saunders, and Nancy (White) Bernard, Three Step-Children, Frank Jr., Karen, and Joseph, Her Ten Grandchildren, Amy, AJ, Pamela, Kayla, Jena, Dana, Mara, Michael, Melissa, and Rhiannon, Ten Great Grandchildren, a Great Great Grandchild, Two Nieces, Carola (Hoigne') (James Fleener) and Holly (Hoigne') (James Gasparino), as well as, Two Great Nieces, Barbara and Nicole, and Three Great Nephews, Alex, Mark, and Michael, Three Great Great Nephews and Two Great Great Nieces.
