Nancy Nelson

Nancy S. Nelson, age 77, of Rochester, MN died Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Season's Hospice. Nancy Slade Huyber was born August 31, 1941 to Vincent and Florence (Slade) Huyber in Rochester, MN. She graduated from John Marshall High School in 1959. After graduating she worked for her father at H & H Electric. On May 1, 1965 she married Merv Nelson in Rochester and they later divorced in 1980. She worked at Satisfaction Real Estate, SMMPA and Lampland Company. She enjoyed knitting, ceramics, cooking/baking (especially lefsa) and cheering on the MN Vikings and MN Twins. She especially enjoyed spending time on the Mississippi River and spending time with her grandchildren. Nancy is survived by one daughter, Tammy Nelson of Rochester, MN; one son, Brent Nelson of Dover, MN; two grandchildren, Skye and Jayce; two brothers, John (Sherry) Huyber of Rochester, MN and Steve (Cindy) Huyber of Rochester, MN and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW Rochester, MN 55901.
