r racing or watching the races. If David wasn't racing cars, he spent time outdoors, animal trapping in the nearby creeks in the hopes of trapping muskrats, beaver or even that one mink he was so proud of. Although David lived an isolated life, at times he had a wild side. He was soft-spoken and had a very gentle spirit. David was a true friend to those who knew him. His rough exterior did not often show the great man he truly was. His kind soul is now at peace. David will be missed by his family and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Velma Hammer; maternal grandparents, Chester and Mable Shannon; and paternal grandparents, Harold and Ethel Hammer. David is survived by his daughters, April Lynn Hammer, and Johanna Lyon and husband Chad; brother, Jeff Hammer and partner Espie; sisters, Pat Olson and husband Monte, and Barb Hammer and wife Janie; aunts, Joan Hammer and Georgianna Shannon; nieces and nephews; cousins; and a host of friends.
