was a fan of the University of Tulsa, the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and the Dallas Mavericks. They will miss his cheers. Jim was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution., Friends of the Library and lifetime member of Tulsa Masonic Lodge #71 and longtime member of the TU Alumni Association and Golden Hurricane Club. He and his wife Joan Bagby Davenport were founding members of John Knox Presbyterian Church and the second member to be married in the congregation. After Joan, his wife of 49 years, death in 2001 he was remarried to their long-time friend Peggy McNair Foutch and moved back to the Tulsa area from Texas. He was preceded in death by: his parents Mac and Ella Davenport; his son, James Daniel Davenport and younger brothers: Jack and Jerry Davenport. Jim is survived by his wife Peggy of Bixby; his daughters: Debra Lanfer (Tom), Richmond, TX, daughter, DiAnn Lewis (Jim), Plano, TX , daughter-in-law, Rhonda Davenport, Hurst, TX; grandchildren: Dan Davenport (Laura), Clint Lewis (Misty), Wade Lewis (Bethany), Rachel Blaylock (Scott), Laura Boldt (Clayton); nine great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law: Sara Davenport and Trisha Bagby of Tulsa. When Jim married Peggy, he was blessed with an extended family: son, Marty Foutch (Linda), daughter, Dr. Pam Ruth (John) and their families, Clark McNair (Cheryl), plus many nieces, nephews, and cousins. For those desiring, the family requests, with gratitude, in lieu of flowers donations be directed to the Tulsa Boy's Home, or your favorite charity. Visitation will be in RiverCrest, Bixby from 5 to 7pm, Sunday, June 16th. A memorial service will be Monday, June 17th at 10:00 am, also at RiverCrest. He will be interned at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulsa.
