Mr. Steven L. Anderson, 69, a 30 year resident of Hope Haven Surrey Home, died Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Born November 11, 1949 in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of Carl E. and Alice L. (Whitmore) Anderson.
Steven worked as a can sorter for Hope Haven. He was involved in Boy Scouts. He competed in the Special Olympics in Des Moines, IA. He enjoyed driving the tractor, wrestling, bowling, and watching the animals and birds at Surrey Home. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Dallas Cowboys and cheerleaders fan.
Survivors include two brothers, Dennis E. (Alva) Anderson of Burlington and Terry L. (Trish) Anderson of Orlando, FL; three sisters, Debbie Hughes of Lone Tree, IA, Vickie (Rick) Nebel of Wayland, IA, and Carol Costlow of Fountain, CO, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and one brother, Wayne.
The graveside celebration of life for Mr. Anderson will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 25th in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Melisa Bracht-Wagner will officiate.
Cremation has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
A memorial has been established for Hope Haven.
