Glendal Ula Polson

Glendal Ula Polson, 87 of Burlington, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Great River Medical Center. Born January 31, 1932 in Des Moines County, she was the daughter of Fred E. Jr. and Ula June (Bush) Stigge. She married Paul T. Polson on November 28, 1953 in Keokuk. Glendal graduated from Danville High School in 1950 and later Burlington Business School. She worked as a telephone operator and secretary before taking a position as a Nursing Assistant at Burlington Medical Center for 25 years. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, baking and cooking, canning, and gardening. She loved singing, being involved in her church, and spending time with family. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Paul; three daughters, Sharilee "Shari" Polson of Des Moines, IA, Susan Polson of Burlington, and Shawna (Brian) Welty of Galesburg, IL; one son, Craig (Kelly) Polson of Gladstone, IL; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; five siblings, Colleen Duke of Keosauqua, IA, Marjorie (Phillip) Getchell of West Burlington, IA, Ronald (Delores) Stigge of Burlington, Lanette (Dwight) Byerly of West Burlington, IA, and Jeraldine (Jerry) Lee of Burlingt...[more]

She was preceded in death by her parents. The funeral service for Mrs. Polson will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 2nd at Lunning Chapel. Pastor Ryan Cosgrove will officiate. Interment will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery. Friends may call 1-7:00 p.m. Monday April 1st at Lunning Chapel with family present 5-7:00 p.m. Memorials have been established for Faith Lutheran Church, Great River Hospice or Special Needs Foundation.
