she retired in 2004. She was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church and the McCallsburg American Legion Auxiliary. Shirley loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her sisters. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening and working out with silver sneakers. Those left to cherish her loving memory are her children Daniel Wismer of Jewell, IA, Connie (Kraig) Anderson of Story City, IA, Nancy (Mike) Jordan of Story City, IA, Mary Lou Wismer of Nevada, IA, Theresa (John) Cook of Story City, IA, and Deb (Gary Steel) Tarbill of Gilbert, IA; 17 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; sisters Erma Klug, and Dorothy Lesher; many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Lois Shea. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa. Fredregill Funeral Home, in Zearing, has been entrusted with the care of Shirley and her family.
