Evangelos G. Poulos, M.D.

Evangelos G. (Angelo) Poulos, MD, highly respected physician and loving father and grandfather, died Monday, March 18, 2019. He was 67 years old. Born November 17, 1951, in Washington, D.C., he was the adopted son of the late George E. Poulos Sr. and Nina Bacaling. At a very young age, Angelo and his family relocated to South Florida. He graduated from Miami Norland Senior High School in 1969. Angelo earned his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. Angelo completed his medical residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at Jackson Memorial hospital in Miami Florida. A brilliant and gifted dermatopathologist, teacher and mentor, he positively impacted many lives in the medical community. Not only was he a passionate physician, Angelo was an avid numismatist and a talented vocalist. Throughout his life, he participated in church choirs, quartets and the Nova Singers. at Angelo met a beautiful young nursing student and the future love of his life, Melinda. He loved to tell the story of how, within a few short weeks, they met and married on August 31, 1973. Angelo and Melinda enjoyed 45 years together as husband and wife and have 5 children: Luke (and wife Georgette), Angela (and husband Brian), Nick (and wife Noelle), Alexis (and husband Jonathan), and Katherine; 13 grandchildren: Jonathan, Angelique, Valentina, Luke, Jessica, Joshua, Jackson, Micah, Elias, Corrie, Blaise, Evangeline and Penelope; and 1 great-grandchild on the way.
