tired after a 30-year career with Rotman Motor Company in Maquoketa where he worked as an autobody repairman. In retirement, he worked for RonAnn's Floral Shoppe in Maquoketa as a deliveryman. "Jack" was a member of the Maquoketa American Legion Post #75, and the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Maquoketa Cardinal fan, enjoyed visiting area casinos, latch hooking, and most importantly spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's activities. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Beatrice Gavin of Maquoketa, IA; his children, Marla (Daniel "Boone") Naeve of Clinton, IA, Susan (Tim) Meier of Cuba City, WI, Bob (Jennifer) Gavin of Maquoketa, IA, Joel (and fiancé Renee) of West Burlington, IA, and Jason (Wendy) Gavin of North Liberty, IA; 9 grandchildren, Allyson Naeve, Isaac, Abe and Sami Meier, Liz and Zac Gavin, Jonathan and Joshua Gavin, and Corissa Gavin; a brother David (Lois) Gavin of Bernard, IA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Oscar, Justin and Thomas, and sisters LaVonne and Arlene. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a John H.
