Lawrence "Lornie" Charles Elliott, 62, of Burlington, died Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his family and his hospice caregivers. He was born November 17, 1956 in Burlington to Lawrence and Bessie Irene Steuller Elliott. On November 15, 1996, he married Vickie Lynn Miller at her brother's home near Danville.
Lornie attended Danville Schools; was a construction worker, and worked at CECO, Keelor Steele and Standard of Beaverdale. He enjoyed riding his Harley, cooking and grilling, hunting deer, mushroom hunting, watching Sci-Fi movies, Halloween, and especially loved time spent with his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Ashley Carrillo, Kansas City, KS; one son, Austin Elliott, Marshalltown; two step-daughters, Tina Martin, Ottumwa and Andrea Martin, Columbus Jct.; four grandchildren, Levi Martin, Maize Black, Daja Black and Maleiah Black; and one brother, Brian (Leslie) Yaley, Danville. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Kara Yaley Harvey and his step-father, Donald "Slug" Yaley.
