oughten's owned and operated the Cedar Grove Fur Farm in Bothell from 1953 to 1990. The City of Bothell acquired the farm in 1996 and established a new Bothell City Park, Cedar Grove Park, which opened to the public in April 2005. Bill's hobbies included gardening and boating, and he has been an amateur radio operator since 1938. He is a member of the Society of Wireless Pioneers. Bill's original call sign, W7HCU, was known as one of the longest continuing call signs in the US. The US Coast Guard awarded Bill the "Last Morse Code Transmission Award" when he copied the last morse code transmission originated by the Coast Guard Communication Area Master Station Atlantic, thus marking the end of the era of Radio Telegraphy in the Coast Guard. Bill is predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Ann Boughten, and is survived by children Barbara A. Premo, William (Amy) C. Boughten Jr., Bryan J. Boughten, and Sheila M. Boughten; grandchildren John (Victoria) Premo, James (Patricia) Premo, Jeffery Premo, William C. Boughten III, Anthony Boughten, and Kerri Boughten; great-grandchildren Nicholas Premo, Presley Boughten, Jacob Premo, Cora Premo, and Chloe Draper. Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
