Frances Lucille Moody, 95, of Dumont, Iowa, passed away Monday, December 24, 2018, at the Dumont Wellness Center in Dumont. She was born June 26, 1923, in Charles City, to Clarence Earl and Viola Mae (Klock) Mahnesmith.
Frances attended schools in Charles City. On October 18, 1945, she was united in marriage to Claude Amos Moody in Lancaster, Missouri. Frances was a homemaker and loved farming. She and Claude were dairy farmers and grew corn and beans. They also raised geese, chickens, hogs and cows. They sold fresh eggs to everyone. Frances and Claude had a pair of peacocks on the farm, Mr. and Mrs. P., along with multiple kitties and house and outside dogs. Frances was a wonderful aunt to all of her nieces and nephews.
Frances is survived by many grieving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and three sisters.
Private family services will be held at the Dumont Cemetery.
