Carolyn Loy
Canton-Frances Carolyn Loy, 97, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Unity Point Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
She was born on August 30, 1921 in Hennepin, IL the oldest child of Nicholas and Addie (Green) Dick. They preceded her in death.
She married Kennard Ivan Loy on April 6, 1940 in Princeton, IL. He preceded her in death on January 30, 1992.
Surviving are her two sons, Ray (Pam) Loy of Peoria, Rick (Margot) Loy of Peoria and three grandchildren, Joshua Loy, Matthew Loy, Derek (Tonia) Loy and one great-grandson, Ace.
Also preceding her in death are three brothers, Earvin Dick, Nicholas Dick, John Dick and two sisters, Marie Lawless and Myrtle Kinneman.
Carolyn was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, the Spoon River China Art Guild and taught ceramics through the YWCA. She served on the Spoon River Hospice Board and was a volunteer for American Cancer Society, Fulton County Health Department and the YWCA. She also was a member of the Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority in Canton.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018, 11 am at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton with a visitation one hour prior at the f...[more]

A private burial will be held at the Good Hope Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Wesley United Methodist Church.
