15 players who have played in the MLS. John had been recognized with many coaching awards reflecting his love of the sport including EPYSA Coach of the Year, FC DELCO Hall of Fame, FIFA Fair Play Award Winner and EPYSA ODP Coach. He will be remembered by his players for his dedication, loyalty, and humor. John was proud to coach each of his players as athletes, but even more proud of being an influence on the men these players became. He is survived by his Aunt Charlotte Walz, sister Lou Ann Hingley and his feline nephew, Moo. He will be sadly missed by his best friends Gail and Marty Wade, their sons and wives. The Wade grandchildren knew him as Uncle John and they will deeply miss him. In 2007, John lost one of his players, Andrew McDonough, to AML Leukemia. In lieu of flowers, he requested that donations would be appreciated to The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, 101 Rockland Circle, Wilmington, DE 19803 or online at BePositive.org. John requested no Memorial Services be held. Interment will be private. However, "John Hingley's Last Practice" is being planned for the fall. Updates will be circulated through all media forums.
