Linda Ann Edwards, 73, of Yates City, passed away at 1:33 a.m., on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Heartland Manor Care in Canton. She was born on July 3, 1944, in Appleton, Tennessee, to Edward and Ruth (Faires) Wallace. Linda married Gary Edwards on July 31, 1966, at the Church of Christ Church in Elmwood. He survives, along with three sons, Troy Edwards of Yates City, Eric (Rachel) Edwards of Peoria, and Rob (Patty) Edwards of Mackinaw; one brother, Thomas Wallace; and seven grandchildren, Kelsey, Robby, Kiley, Mikey, twins Asher and Avalyn, and Olivia. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Shirley; one brother, Bobby; and one grand-daughter, Samantha. After working at Home Comfort in Princeville, she moved to California for a short time. Upon returning to Illinois, she worked at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria as a unit secretary until she started a family. She was a stay-at-home mom and maintained a day care center for several years. xt publication was a novel (The Legend of White Sky) with Tate Publishing. Linda was a member of the church of Christ church in Pekin. Linda loved her family especially her grandchildren. She loved to play 10,000, and she loved to play her DS Game. A funeral service will be held at 4:30 p.m., on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood, with a visitation prior to the service from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A burial will immediately follow the service at Yates City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice.
