Verna Rae Harms

Verna Rae Harms, 84, of Tipton, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017, in the Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton. As per her instructions she was cremated and there will be no services. Verna was born on February 22, 1933 in Linn County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Harold and Alberta Wenger Burnell. Verna was an art teacher for 20 years in the Muscatine School System then operated a flower shop and managed a car wash in Elizabeth, Illinois. Verna knew how to work and the habit became a lifestyle so she even worked in an automobile parts manufacturing plant until she retired at age 72. She made her home in the Tipton Senior Apartments and enjoyed her friends and neighbors. Verna is survived by her two sons, Kim (Debbie) Weber of Tipton, Iowa and Steven Weber of Muscatine, Iowa.
