The health and personal obstacles along her life's path were met head on with strength and courage providing an amazing role model. As a child, Doris tap danced and as a young woman she sang with Lou's swing band. Later she was active with Lou in the Knights of Columbus, served as a Brownie troop leader, and became an officer of the "Women in Banking" organization. For the past few years Doris, "The Queen's Mum", enjoyed Red Hatting with Michele and LuAnn; attending and hosting activities for her chapter of the international Red Hat Society.
