Kathie Sue Karsjens
Kathie Karsjens, 65, of Austinville, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at her home in Austinville. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Austinville Christian Reformed Church with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley. Memorials may be directed to Care Initiatives Hospice, 6915 Chancellor Drive, Suite A, Cedar Falls, Iowa 50613.
Kathie Sue Karsjens was born on December 20, 1951 to Ferdinand and Mary (Steinmeyer) Henze. She graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1970. She was united in marriage to Ron Karsjens on March 29, 1986 in the Grundy County Courthouse. She was a member of the Austinville Christian Reformed Church.
Kathie is survived by her husband Ron her children Amy Lyn (Shawn) Heitland of Aplington, Bradley (Trish) Karsjens of Des Moines, Maria (Brad) Hartkopp of Ackley, Jarred (Amy Jo) Frey of Ackley, Misty (Joe) Hunt of Ackley and Adam Karsjens of Austinville; her mother Mary Henze of Grundy Center; her brother Gary Henze of Wellsburg 20 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
