Judith Ann Hawkins

Judith Ann "Judi" Hawkins, 70, of Hamilton, IL, died Saturday, July 29, 2017 at her home. She was born on October 31, 1946 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Francis "Fritz" Edward and Virginia Mae Grass Breitenstein. Judi graduated from Cardinal Stritch High School in Keokuk with the Class of 1965. She married Maurice Hawkins on August 20, 1966 and to this union were born two children. They later divorced. Judi began a 43 year long career with the Hubinger Company in Keokuk in August 1965 as a clerical worker. She later became a foreman in the manufacturing plant. She held the distinction of being the first female foreman in the company. She then worked in the Shipping and Receiving Department when the plant became H.J. Heinz. When Heinz sold to Roquette, Judi worked in the customer care department and retired in 2008. Following her retirement, she began working at All Saints Parish as the church secretary and retired in 2016. Judi was a faithful and active member of All Saints Parish. e Class of '65 Reunion Committee and enjoyed monthly luncheons with her classmates. She enjoyed working on geneology, gardening, crafts and sewing. Most important to Judi was her family and she greatly enjoyed spending time with them. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved them deeply. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Friday at the All Saints Parish in Keokuk with Father Robert Lathrop officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic Section of Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. Visitation will be held after 1 p.m. Thursday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with the family meeting with friends from 6- 8 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to All Saints Parish or Birthright.
