HOFF FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICE- HOUSTON, MINN. 507-896-3127HOUSTON, MINN. - Alice Marie Loken, 85, of Houston, Minn. died on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at her home in Heritage Court in Houston.
Alice was born on May 20, 1927, in Lanesboro, Minn. to John and Mary (Horihan) Scanlan. She was raised near La Crescent, Minn. on her family's farm. Alice graduated from La Crosse Aquinas High School in 1945. On October 12, 1947, she was united in marriage with Marvin Loken in La Crescent, Minn. Alice and Marvin moved to the Houston, Minn. area, where Alice lived the remainder of her life. She worked at Gundersen - Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wis. as a respiratory therapist for many years, retiring in 1995. Alice enjoyed quilting and belonged to two quilting guilds. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Houston and the women's group there. Alice was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Houston.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, JoAnne Rudolph; and by her life-long friend, Mary Rostad.
There will be a Memorial Mass for Alice at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Houston, Minn. with the Rev. Pratap Reddy officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in Houston. Burial will be in the Crucifixion Cemetery in La Crescent, Minn.
The family prefers memorials directed to St. Mary's Catholic Church Youth Group or Houston Nature Center.
