Lauren E. Peterson, 69, of Forest City, died Saturday, September 13, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held Friday, September 19, 2014 from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. with a Celebration of Life service starting at 6:00 P.M. at the Cataldo Schott Funeral Chapel, 505 North Clark St. Forest City, Iowa, with the Pastor Greg Anderson officiating of Immanuel Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Lauren Peterson memorial fund. Lauren was born August 23, 1945 in Belmond, Iowa the son of Roland E. and Clara Mae (Peterson) Peterson. He grew up in Belmond, attended school there, graduating in 1964. Lauren served his country in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne, he was honorably discharged after his time served. He was married to Janice Cobb on March 2, 1971, to this union three children, Craig, Kelly and Jon were born. They later were divorced. Lauren worked as a mechanic for a road construction crew for many years. He enjoyed working with cars, watching T.V and spending time with his family and friends.
