"Mrs Blackman was a kindergarten aide in Mrs. Muholands class back in 1992 she was such a sweet lady n will be dearly missed"
Patricia Clare Blackman, the only child of Clara Helen (Kruntorad) and Lawrence Edward Trawicke, was born on September 21, 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska. She grew up in Omaha and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1960. Following school, Pat worked at Mutual of Omaha for a year, and then worked for an Omaha law firm from 1961 to 1964. She also worked briefly at H & H Chevrolet in Omaha.
Pat and Edward Francis Blackman were married on June 8, 1963 at St Thomas More Catholic Church in Omaha. In 1973, they moved to a small acreage south of Malvern. Their marriage was blessed with sons, Kenneth and Christopher.
Pat was a homemaker and a busy mother. She worked in the library at the Chantry Elementary School and later as a Kindergarten teacher's aide, before her retirement in 1983. Pat and Blacky also owned and operated Farley's Bar & Grill in Malvern from 1980 -1983.
Pat was soft-spoken, kind and caring, and quick to give a smile and a hug. She was a "large presence in a small package", and a great friend to all who knew her. Pat enjoyed working crossword puzzles, sending cards with messages of inspiration and encouragement, watching her "soaps" and QVC on TV, and loved to bake. She was a wonderful wife, a caring mother, and loved being a grandma.
Pat and Ed were married 49 years when Pat passed away unexpectedly at her home on August 8, 2012 at the age of 69 years, 10 months, and 17 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sons, Daniel and Patrick, and son Michael, all in infancy.
Pat is survived by her loving husband Ed Blackman of Malvern; sons, Kenny Blackman of Omaha, NE, and Chris Blackman and wife Wendy of Malvern; four grandchildren, Bryce Tornquist, Shawn Blackman, Danny Clayton, and Riley Blackman, who were her pride and joy; and many friends.
Memorials suggested ~ Library book donation in Pat's name to Chantry Elementary School Library or Malvern Volunteer Rescue.

"Blackie, Kenny, Chris & Wendy, and family, Kevin and I are so sorry to hear about Pat. She was truly the most thoughtful, heartfelt woman that we have had the pleasure of knowing. Her love for all of you came deeply, and honestly. She always knew just what to say or do and we always cherish all the little cards she would send to us when we had some rough times, she seemed to know that we needed those. We feel blessed to have been able to have had her in our lives too. Cherish all the wonderful memories of her. God truly got an Angel when her called her home to be with him...Love you all.."
