Carolyn Rose Fisher, daughter of Virginia Darlene (Huntsman) Judah and Clyde Mervin Judah, was born at her grandparent's home in Emerson, Iowa on July 16, 1938. Carolyn grew to adulthood on the Judah family farm near Strahan, Iowa where she graduated from Strahan Consolidated High School in 1958.
Carolyn began her working career at Spiker Produce in Malvern, Iowa. Carolyn met and married Jerry Biggerstaff of Malvern. Their marriage was blessed with the birth of a son, Terry. Carolyn and Jerry later divorced.
Carolyn married Larry Gene Fisher at Plattsmouth, Nebraska on May 4, 1960. Their marriage was blessed with the birth of sons Clyde, Scott, Randy, Andru, Trent, and a daughter Sandra. Carolyn was a stay at home mother who enjoyed caring for her family and reading. Carolyn and Larry had been married 36 years when Larry died October 24, 1996 at their Plattsmouth home.
Carolyn eventually moved to an acreage south of Hastings, Iowa which had been her parent's home. She later began working at Park Place in Glenwood, Iowa. Four of her sons eventually placed mobile homes on the acreage and they enjoyed family activities and a close comradeship.
Carolyn became gravely ill at her home on the afternoon of April 2, 2007 and was admitted to Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak. The next day she was transferred to Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha where she died on April 4, 2007 at the age of 68 years, 8 months, and 18 days.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Virginia and Clyde Judah; infant sister Corina; sister Darlene Taylor; husband Larry Fisher; and son Terry Biggerstaff. She is survived by her daughter Sandra Plyler of Tucson, AZ and sons Clyde Fisher of Stanton, IA, Scott Fisher, Randy Fisher, Andru Fisher and Trent Fisher all of Hastings; sister Lorraine Fisher of Hastings, grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
