Eunice Marie(Rubenking) Coleman

Eunice Marie Coleman, one of seven children of Charles Henry Rubenking and Margaret Virginia (Myers) Rubenking, was born on November 14, 1928 at Malvern, Iowa. Familiarly known as Marie, she grew up in Malvern and attended Malvern High School. Following high school, Marie worked for a farmer in Moulton, Iowa for one year. She then returned to Malvern where she worked at the Swanson Cold Storage and also worked for McCord Grocery in Malvern. Later she worked as a laundry personnel at the Glenwood State Hospital School where she retired in 1990 at the age of 62.
Marie was a member of the Malvern First Baptist Church. She enjoyed her family, fishing and gardening, and reading until diabetes affected her eyesight. She remained in her own home until moving to the Manor of Malvern Nursing Home in May 2005. She died at the Manor on August 16, 2005, at the age of 76 years, 9 months, and 2 days.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Della Carnes, Ella Murray and Rachel Narron; brothers Francis "Eugene" Rubenking and Floyd Rubenking; and daughter Peggy Delavan in 1999.
Marie is survived by her son Charles Edward Coleman and wife Debra of Malvern and her brother William "Bill" Richard Rubenking of Nebraska City, Nebraska; seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
