In loving memory of

Patricia (Pat) Marsh
August 15, 2005

Patricia Ann Marsh, one of four children of Delores Mildred (Tower) and Carl John Schorsch, was born at Council Buffs, Iowa on November 10, 1955. Pat was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church at Underwood, Iowa and her family lived near McClelland, Iowa. Pat's family moved to a farm northwest of Carson, Iowa and Pat attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Treynor where she was confirmed on June 21, 1970. She graduated from Carson-Macedonia High School.
Pat married Steven Michael Marsh on June 16, 1973 at the home of her parents, Carl and Delores Schorsch. They established their home in Carson and would become the parents of three children, Michael, Amber, and Angela. Pat worked nine years as a secretary for Larry Allen at the Carson Machinery Auction Company. She became a professional licensed insurance agent and began her career with the Farm Bureau Insurance Agency in Oakland, Iowa and later the office in Council Bluffs. Farm Bureau recognized Pat's professional development with numerous awards. Her career took her to Omaha, Nebraska where she worked five years at Sitel Communications. Most recently, Pat was employed in Avoca, Iowa at the Z C Sterling Company.
Pat's enjoyments included fishing trips, eating crab legs, boating, and remodeling her home. Playing with her grandchildren was a highlight in her life. She was a very loving person with a big heart.
Pat was diagnosed with cancer in 2002 and fought valiantly against the disease. When a cure was not to be, she accepted the care of Hospice with Heart and entered the Oakland Manor on August 12, 2005. On August 15, 2005, Pat was surrounded by her loving family at the Manor when the angels called her home at the age of 49 years, 9 months, and 5 days.
Pat was preceded by her father Carl Schorsch and twin infant brothers Ricky Schorsch and Dicky Schorsch. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Steve Marsh; son Michael Marsh and his fiancée Erin Hutchinson of Omaha; daughters Amber Marsh of Harlan, Iowa and Angela Marsh of Carson; grandchildren Destiny Marsh, Bailey Marsh, and Corey Hardy; mother Delores Schorsch of Carson; sister Bobbette Beedle and husband Rick of Treynor; brothers Kim Schorsch and wife Barb of Oakland and Carl John (Skip) Schorsch, Jr. of Brownsville, Nebraska; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

"I was so sorry to hear of Pat's death. Comfort yourselves by knowing that she is free from pain and in a better place. I remember Pat for her nice smile and conscientiousness when I had her in school. My Deepest Sympathy to the whole family. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. God Bless. "

Shirley Allen wrote on Aug 18, 2005:

"To Pat's Family - from the Class of 74 we sent our deepest sympathies to each one of you. Each of us have our own memories of Pat. Pat loved to joke around and have a good time. Many of us remember the early morning band practices, the bus trips with the band, and to the state fair. Those were the good ol' days. Please remember Pat is now free of pain and that doesn't make it easier on you, but she is now at peace. We know how she loved to fish, and we regret that she didn't get to use her new fishing pole that was given to her. Bless each of you and may you have the strength to get through the days ahead."

"I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of Pat. I have many memories of her through junior high and high school. I was thinking last night about when we were kids when our two families all went sledding one day, and how much fun we all had. The class of 1974 will never forget her. Gerianne Forristall Darnell"
