"Glenda was a wonderful wife and mother, a seamsress who could always fix my clothes so they were "just right," and a wonderful friend that I miss very much. Not only did she know exactly which coffee drink I wanted before the words came out of my mouth, she also knew when I needed a hug. She donated many pots of cofee and tea to our book study group at the library and I always took her samples of the dessert that we would be eating with her coffee. The world has lost a wonderful person but I am happy that her pain is gone. Her smile will always be with me."

"Leroy and Chanel, I am truly sorry for your loss of a beautiful wife and mother. I remember what a warm, welcoming woman she was; one of the first to greet me when we visited the Tipton Kingdom Hall and later in Anamosa! After reading the tributes I realize I'm not the only person to recognize her warm Christian qualities."

"Glenda was the one that taught me the books of the Bible. She made a game of it and was very patient with me when I got them messed up. To this day I remember the scriptures she helped me to learn and the memory games she taught me to remember the order of the scriptures. She was always quick with a laugh and a smile. I will miss her dearly."
Deb Wanek wrote on Feb 26, 2012:
"I will remember Glenda as a beautiful smile and someone who always did whatever she could for someone else. I first met her shortly after I married her faithful customer, Wendell Wanek. He came to me one day after his shirt pocket had ripped. He asked me if I could fix it for him and I reached up and ripped it the rest of the way off his shirt and said, "there, now it is fixed". So began our lifelong friendship with Glenda who saved our marriage by becoming our permanent seamstress and she always loved repeating that story. It always made us smile. She saved my son and daughter-in-laws wedding by altering her wedding gown into a beautiful vision of what Michaela wanted. Even tho she was suffering through her own pain and chemo/radiation at the time, she still found time for someone else. My heart is broken for her family. We will always miss her. "
