Jeffrey Borkovec

Jeffrey Borkovec, 35, ended his life journey on September 8, 2011, after a 20 month battle with cancer. Jeff was born June 9, 1976, in Green Bay, to Susan Borkovec and the late Dennis Borkovec. Jeff attended Southwest High School and found a passion for cooking early on. Jeff cooked and managed kitchens at various restaurants in Green Bay and Appleton over the past 17 years, including Timberlodge Steakhouse, Grazies, and most recently at Tanner's Grill in Kimberly. In his spare time, Jeff enjoyed fishing. He often went on fishing outings with friends and found pleasure in catching almost anything.
Jeff is survived by his mother Susan and her partner, Katie Klaus, Howard; sister and brother-in-law, Tricia and Matt Yarbro, Howard; special aunt and uncle, Kathy and Kevin Sitzman, DePere. He is further survived by various uncles, aunts, cousins, and many friends.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Dennis; paternal grandparents, Alvin and Margaret Borkovec; and maternal grandparents, Ralph and LaVerne Mueller.
Friends may call on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, from 3:30 to 5:15 P.M. at Union Congregational Church, 716 South Madison Street, Green Bay. The funeral service will take place at 5:30 P.M after the visitation with the Rev. Dr. Charles Mize officiating. Burial will be at Nicolet Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Jeff's name.
The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the entire staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center and Aurora Baycare for their care and concern for Jeff, especially Dr. Nancy Davis, Dr. David Rhode, and Carrie Condon as well as the staff at Golden Living Nursing Home and Aurora Hospice Care.
