Donald D. Simons Jr., 53, DePere, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, surrounded by his family. He was born February 2, 1957, in Redondo Beach, CA, to the late Donald Simons Sr. and late Barbara (Poole) Simons.
Don married Barbara Wilson on September 15, 2001, in Green Bay. He had been employed as a public safety officer III (PSO III) in Ashwaubenon for 25 years. Don loved working with his hands, especially working with steel. He was always willing to help people when they needed something fixed. Don will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, DePere; son, Benjamin (Jennifer) Simons, Virginia; daughter, Holly (John) Janssen, Sobieski; step-son, Kevin (Kaitlyn) Schulze, Texas; step-daughter, Kasey Schulze, Green Bay; three grandchildren, Vincent Simons, Anthony Simons, and Ashley Janssen; sister, Cindie Lou Simons, Hawaii; brothers, Doug (Carol) McDaniel, Ashwaubenon; and Rick McDaniel, Green Bay.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Friday, October 1, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lyndahl Funeral Home. A memorial fund has been established in Don�s name. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.
