Jean E. (Hendrickson) Scheschi

Jean E. (Hendrickson) Scheschi, 89, Green Bay, died peacefully in her sleep Friday, September 17, 2010 with her family by her side. She was born on March 4, 1921 to the late Louis and Loraine DeGroot. Jean was a life-long resident of Green Bay and a proud graduate of Green Bay East High School class of 1938.
Jean married Earl Hendrickson on November 30, 1940; he preceded her in death October 20, 1967. She later married Norbert Scheschi on March 2, 1974; he preceded her in death on April 30, 1985.
Jean was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She was a volunteer for many years at PaulÃÆ'¢ï¿½ï¿½s Pantry and St. Vincent de Paul. She loved to play bingo and found immense joy in bringing pies to many people over the years. Jean was employed for over 20 years as a legal secretary for the Robert H. Flatley Law Office.
Survivors are her three sons and two daughters, Thomas Hendrickson, Perry, New York; Robert (Diane) Hendrickson, Waterloo, Iowa; Patricia Gross, Oconto Falls, Wisconsin; Barbara (Joseph) VanSeveren, Green Bay; and Lee (Candy) Hendrickson, Sumpter, South Carolina; two step-sons and a step-daughter, Joseph Scheschi, David (Sally) Scheschi and Sara Weidner, all of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; a step-daughter-in-law, Sue Scheschi, Cheyenne, Wyoming; many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Rita (Dan) Dubin, Green Bay; Mary Lou (Al) Hendricks, Green Bay and Ann Lee (James) Naperville, Illinois; and a sister-in-law, Carol DeGroot, Green Bay.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bernard DeGroot, Robert DeGroot and Howard DeGroot; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Hendrickson; a son-in-law, Charles Gross; and a step-son, Norbert (Doc) Scheschi.
Friends may call at Lyndahl Funeral Home on Monday, September 20, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., where a parish wake service will take place at 6:30 pm. Visitation will continue Tuesday after 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 211 North Maple Street, Green Bay, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am with Rev. Donald Everts officiating. Burial will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Grancare Nursing Home for their loving care given to Jean.
