Edythe Nelson

Mrs. Warren (Edythe) Nelson, 84, Green Bay, died Saturday evening, March 20, 2010, at a local hospital.
She was born on July 10, 1925 in Michigan. On January 9, 1952, she married Warren Nelson; he preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 2007. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 54 years. Edythe enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and made many beautiful things over the years. She loved watching birds and she loved her Double Cola. Family gatherings were important to her, particularly during the holidays. Edythe sacrificed things in her own life but was often quietly generous in helping others.
Survivors include her daughter, Edythe Hammond, Green Bay; two granddaughters: Terry Hemm and Tammy (Dan) McAllister, both of Green Bay; three great grandchildren: Amanda, Zachary and Jordan; two sisters: Betty Ellis, Paw Paw, MI, and Helen Teebo, Green Bay; one brother: Robert (Leslie) Nowack, Antelope, CA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Edythe was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather: Frances (Cundy) and George Nowack; one sister: Frances "Ellen" De Roeck; and one brother: George Nowack, Jr.
Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 330 S. Broadway, where funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Michael R. Baucom officiating. Interment in Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
Edythe's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff of Marla Vista and to her special nephew, David Nelson, for the loving care that they provided.
