Clarence H. Lindow

Clarence H. Lindow, 90, Oneida, died Sunday morning, June 11, 2006. He was born on March 26, 1916 in Tigerton, WI to the late Henry and Alvina (Sonnenberg) Lindow. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1939 to 1943. On June 21, 1942, he married the former Eleanora Zoellner in Hattisberg, Miss. Clarence retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1982. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Kunesh; a life member of Disabled American Veterans #32; a member and past master of Des Peres Lodge #85, F&AM; a member of N.E.W. Daylight Lodge #360, F&AM, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite ? Valley of Green Bay, Beja Shrine Temple and Green Bay Shrine Club. Clarence enjoyed working in his yard, had a love of music (especially Polka bands), and participated in the Shrine Circus for many years. He was a good husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, and was always willing to lend a hand to his neighbors. He will be remembered by many for his great sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Eleanora; five children and their spouses: Roger Lindow and his special friend, Barbara Diederich, De Pere, Sandra and Thomas Kramer, The Villages, Florida, Ralph and Debra Lindow, Kaukauna, Deborah and Paul Englebert, Green Bay, and James and Martha Lindow, Green Bay; 14 grandchildren: Laurie (Al), Craig (Lisa), Jeffery, Natalie (Bill), Heather, Kristine, Kerrie, Amanda, Sara, Kim, Candice, Michael, Stephanie and Lucas; seven great grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters-in-law: Harold & Mary Lindow, Winter Haven, Florida, Melvin Lindow, Amberg, and Wallace and Leona Lindow, Plant City, Florida; two sisters: Carol La Fond, Green Bay, and Avis Lindow, Oshkosh; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by a brother, Harry, and two infant brothers.
Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, where a Masonic memorial service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church, 1954 Co. Rd. U, Kunesh, where funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Donald Behrendt officiating. Military honors to follow service. Interment in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour for the exceptional care they provided and to Clarence's lodge brothers for their many visits over the last years.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established for the Shrine Hospital.
