Lorraine Gloria Tieso Chuning

Lorraine Gloria Tieso Chuning was born on November 25, 1926, to Sam and Theresa (LaSalvia) Tieso in Los Banos.

She attended local schools and graduated from Westside Union High School in 1944 and began working as a salesperson for Clifton's Corner Drug Store in Los Banos.

In 1946 Lorraine moved to Redwood City, California where she began a 40-year career at Bank of America, and through the years she was employed by several branches of Bank of America, with the last 19 years as a manager of the San Mateo branch.

On January 30, 1971, she married the love of her life John Chuning, and they enjoyed 17 years together until he passed away in November 1988.

She retired from the bank in 1986 and moved back to Los Banos after her retirement.

She spent many years as a volunteer at Memorial Hospital in Los Banos and was named "Volunteer of the Year" in 2010.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Theresa Tieso, her sister Janet Gill (Manuel) and her brother Anthony "Tony" Tieso (Arlene) and her mother-in law Rose Taylor Chuning.

She is survived by four nephews, Gary, Michael, Kevin and Gregory Gill, and nieces Carol Tieso and Jill Tieso DeWeese (Paul).

A Rosary will be said at 10 a.m. on June 16 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Mass to follow.

Thank you for taking care of Ryan and Alison when we lost Mom. Thank you for being there for Jill when we couldn?t remember the alarm code. Thank you for being there for Dad when he needed you. Thank you for your laugh and your love. You will be missed. Carol & Jill"
