Georgia M Austin, 84, of Washington, passed away at 7:56 PM on Wednesday May 7, 2025 at Jasper Memorial Hospital and Healthcare.
Georgia was born July 17, 1940, in Washington, she was the daughter of Martin "Pete" Reel and Mary Alice (Baumert) Reel. She married Ronald 'Ratchet' Austin on July 20, 1963 and he preceded her in death on January 12, 2013.
She worked in home healthcare and at Purdue Farms. After retirement she enjoyed spending her time with family and friends; and playing bingo. She was truly a woman with a heart of gold and a loving sense of humor that would bring a smile to the faces everybody she knew.
Those left behind to mourn Georgia's passing; two sons and daughters in-law; Martin Earl and Tammy Austin of Washinton and Brian K Austin and Andrea Baker of Washington; three sisters, Sue Wingfield of Washington, Debbie Baker of Gansevoort, NY, and Cheryl and Shannon Higgins of Carlisle, In; grandchildren Nathan Austin, Tiffany Williams, Danielle Wittmer. Ethan Austin. Brian Ray Austin. Logan Aldrich, and Jalynn Austin; and many great grandchildren whom she adored.
In her lifetime Geargia mourned the loss of her parents; her husband; a brother, Joseph Reel; and two brothers in-law, Tom Wingfield and Clay Baker.
The funeral services for Georgia will be held at 6:30 PM on Tuesday May 13, 2025 at Ed Lee Mortuary with Pastor Pete Aldrich officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St John Cemetery
Visitation will be from 4:00 till 6:30 PM on Tuesday May 13, 2025 at Ed Lee Mortuary.

"I just loved Georgie?? Everytime I saw her she gave the sweetest smile and she was so happy to see me? We were cousins down the line and I cherished that. She lived next to my sweet sister in law Berta Matthew?s. I?m praying for all of you in your time of loss? I certainly hope she didn?t suffer?"
