Thomas E. Matteson
June 6, 1945 - March 14, 2025

Thomas E. Matteson, 79, passed away during the afternoon of March 14, 2025. He was born in Washington on June 6, 1945, the son of Eugene and Eileen (Best) Matteson.

Thomas was a 1963 graduate of Washington High School. He owned and operated his own carpentry business. An accomplished musician, Thomas was a member of two popular local bands, Country Knights and Centerline, both played at many venues in the area. He was a charter member of the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department, a former officer of the Washington Moose Lodge, and a member of the Christ United Methodist Church.

Those who now mourn Thomas' passing include his sons: Scott Joseph Matteson of Washington; Billy Gene (Malinda) Matteson of Montgomery; and Todd Alan (Leah) Matteson of Newburgh. Thomas was blessed with seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

During his lifetime, Thomas grieved the loss of his parents, Eugene and Eileen Matteson; the mother of his children, Cynthia Matteson; and sisters, Charlene Thomas and Melanie Wayman.

Visitation for Thomas Matteson will be 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, Friday, March 21, 2025, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington, Indiana.

Funeral services for Thomas Matteson will immediately follow the visitation and begin at 1:00 pm, Friday, March 21, 2025, also at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
