Jeanette Ann Wiese, also known as Mom, Grandma, and Ava - left this world on November 29th, 2024, surrounded by her husband, son Zac, and daughter Jazmine after almost two years of battling cancer.
Jeanette was born on July 30th, 1969, in Centerville, Iowa to Ronald and Joann Sales (Kielty) where she became the baby sister to Joey and Richie Sales. She graduated from Centerville High School in 1988 and went on to further her career at Indian Hills Community College where she became a registered nurse. Jeanette was a dedicated nurse for over twenty-nine years where she spent fourteen years working in the Lutheran Hospital Emergency Room, twelve years in the Surgery Center at Wolfe Eye Clinic, two years working as a travel nurse during COVID, and most recently working at UnityPoint in the outpatient surgery center and from home admitting and discharging patients from the hospital.
Jeanette married Ron Wiese on July 29, 2016, in Las Vegas, where they both enjoyed vacationing over the years together. Jeanette and Ron met in 2013 at the Flying Moose in Des Moines, IA where they continued their night at Denny Arthurs where she first witnessed Ron's "silencer" dance move and solidified the connection. During their marriage, they enjoyed riding bikes, including participating in Ragbrai several times, traveling to different places both within the United States and internationally, going to concerts, finding karaoke bars, throwing the best Halloween parties, tailgating, and working out together - even completing several half marathons. Jeanette and Ron enjoyed spending time with their children Jazmine (Matt), Zac (Haley), Parker, Zoey, and Olivia, and their grandchildren Declan (Jazmine and Matt), Rowan (Jazmine and Matt), and Crue (Zac and Haley).
Jeanette was known for her generosity, big heart, being tough as nails, great sense of humor, flawless karaoking Big Balls, scaring people with Halloween masks, and spending time outside - she was a beast on her bike when it came to hills, painting, and her loyalty to her family, friends, and work. Jeanette was one of a kind, she put a smile on the faces of those around her, whether it was through telling a joke, pulling a prank, or saying what everyone else was thinking.
Some of her family's fondest memories together were attending sporting events both professional and her children's, karaoking together, vacations, holidays - especially Halloween, Christmas, and St. Patrick's Day, riding bikes, playing bingo - she was always the caller, and watching her connect and spoil her grandchildren.
Jeanette was preceded in death by Joann Sales (Mom), Marylou Sales (Stepmom), Mary Irene Sales (Grandma), Velmer Sales (Grandpa), Lillian Kielty (Grandma), and Cornelius Kielty (Grandpa).
A Celebration of Life Service will be held December 14, 2024, from 4-7 pm, at Gathering Ground - 2125 IA-5 Bussey, IA 50044, casual party attire.
In lieu of flowers, the family will collect memorial donations to organize and plan something in the future to honor Jeanette's memory (possible bike ride, bench along the bike trail, etc.) These donations can be sent to @juanpaul via Venmo.
