"Rosie was especially proud of her professional career as a musician. Her singing ability gave her the extra income to support her family during single head of household days. She met papaw around 1970ish and continued her singing days with local bands at locations like Moose Lodges and many many dance halls. Her favorite story was a competition at the east side park. Winning the contest she was given the opportunity to sing alongside the gentleman who sang at the time a top of charts hit. Mother was also a very accomplished chef in the household. She taught all her children to cook. All the Perdue women learned and passed on cooking techniques. The children?s lineage goes as: Ronnie, Sherry, Scott, Bert. Papaw along with Robin and Kim joined the team in 1970. Let?s not forget mom?s love for her Pacers and IU basketball. She watched every game with passion. Rosie welcomed all her children?s spouses with open arms. She also welcomed significant others like Lillian Lagerholm McClain. Rosie will be remembered always as loving and loyal to her family.
