Duane "Swartz" Edwin Walker was born to Nancy (Sorenson) and Guy "Skike" Walker
Jr. in Oelwein, Iowa on May 30, 1956. He was educated and graduated from the local
high school in Oelwein. Duane met the mother of his children as a young man and had
twin daughters, Majesta and Amber. He grew up and lived in the comfort of his
hometown for the remainder of his life.
Duane worked as a general laborer for most of his career. He met Pam and they were
married in 1989. Duane was an avid golfer and loved to shoot pool every chance he got.
He played in and won many golf and pool tournaments in Oelwein. Duane even taught
his daughters how to play pool. Duane was a carefree spirit, who didn't worry about a
whole lot. He enjoyed spending time and making memories with his family and friends.
He enjoyed and frequented Clete & Connie's in Oelwein and loved playing the machine
to win drink tickets, which he always used to buy drinks and food for his family and
friends who were there with him.
Duane "Swartz" Walker passed away on October 2, 2024, in Oelwein, Iowa. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Pam "Mrs. Swartz;" parents, Guy "Skike" Walker Jr. and
Nancy (Sorenson) Walker; twin sisters, Connie Oakes and Vickie Moser; and brother,
Steve Walker.
Those left to cherish Swartz in memory are his daughters, Majesta Gregory and Amber
Walker; siblings, Lynn Boleyn and Jim (Tammy) Walker; stepchildren, Trisha and Chad
Burns; grandchildren Peyton (Dalton) Brown, Kordell Lawless and Dylan Lawless; great-
grandchild, Oakley James-Dean Brown; brothers-in-law, Clark Moser and Tj Oakes and
many other nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
