Gloria Jean Mendonca
January 10, 1941 - September 12, 2024

Gloria Mendonca, a long-time resident of Los Banos, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, in Los Banos, CA with her family by her side.
Gloria was born January 10, 1941, in Los Banos, CA to Joseph and Helen Brioso. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Gloria was a cook and janitor for the Los Banos School District for 20 + years. She cooked in the central kitchen feeding elementary school kids and worked as a janitor after hours. She volunteered at the heating and cooling shelters and help to pack boxes for soldiers overseas. She set up and judged the art exhibits for the May Day fair and always said all the kids deserve first prize.
Gloria was a member of Native Daughters, Kiwanis and Circle of Love where she loved to dress up in costumes to brighten the day of nursing homes residents and school kids. She dedicated her life to make others feel welcome and loved. She will be missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph (Helen) Brioso, sister Isabel Brioso, brother Joseph Brioso, nephew Joseph Brioso and two grandsons, Brett Mendonca and Rodney Huff.
Those she leaves behind to cherish her memories: her husband Kenneth Mendonca; children: Isabel Reid, Sandra (Rodney) Huff, Patrick (Dana) Mendonca, Robert Mendonca, Misty Mendonca and Shawn Carter; 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; one brother Ronald Brioso and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Gloria will be lay to rest on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. A visitation will be held at 9:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Los Banos, The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 10:00am, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Burial at the Los Banos Cemetery District will follow the mass.
