Carla K. (Grove) Campton, 64, passed away while at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes on August 3, 2024. She was born in Washington on January 6, 1960, to Jack and Carolyn Sue (Ross) Grove. On May 7, 1983, Carla married the love of her life, Douglas Campton; and for the next forty-one years, they created a loving home for themselves and their two daughters.
A 1978 graduate of Washington Catholic High School, Carla went on to graduate from Vincennes Beauty College and become a hairdresser. She enjoyed swimming and decorating her home. However, she was happiest when she was spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.
Those who now mourn Carla's passing include her husband, Doug Campton; daughters, Paige (Trent) Chattin and Kelsi (Travis) Edwards, all of Washington. Carla was blessed with three grandchildren: Penelope Chattin, Merryn Edwards and Amelia Edwards. She leaves two sisters: Diane Webber of Washington and Jackie (Jerry) Arthur of Indianapolis.
During her lifetime, Carla mourned the loss of her parents, Jack and Carolyn Grove; and her precious grandson born sleeping, Lincoln Chattin.
Visitation for Carla Campton will be 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 315 NE 3rd Street, Washington, Indiana.

"Carla was my all-time favorite hairdresser and one of the funniest people ever. I went to Mass at Our Lady of Good Hope one Sunday and ran into Carla after not seeing her in five years or so. We sat together in the back of the church and chatted before, after, and even during the service, giggling like we were in elementary school and getting some dirty looks from the other parishoners. It was probably the best church service I have ever attended. I hope she knew how much joy she put out into the world."
