"Dear Barton Family, On behalf of the Hilton CSD Board of Education and Administration, I would like to share our deepest sympathies for the passing of Tre. Heaven surely gained another angel who will always look out for you and your family. Tre was always up for talking about his Georgia Bulldogs when I visited his classroom or saw him in the hallway. Christin Barbera wrote on Jan 14, 2024:

"I will always remember Tre for his wit, humor, strength, and determination. He was brutally honest at times and I loved that about him. Once he was in the health office and I was heating up my lunch and he said ?Eewww, what is that smell?? I told him it was my lunch, and he said ?Well can you go eat it somewhere else!!? What he did not know was that I would have went somewhere else, because I would have done anything for him. He was an expert at kicking other students out of the health office, often telling them it ?did not make sense? why they were there. He would tell them to go back to class, and just for good measure, would shout out the door and say ?And don?t come back!!? He loved coming in daily, right around 10am, to make an ice cream sundae. This became a daily ritual and I always teased him because he used more whipped cream than ice cream. He helped me make band aid cups and we often argued about how much time he needed to rest. Turns out he was quite good at bargaining. I would say 30 minutes, he would say 10 minutes. He always won. Tre, I will miss these moments more than you will ever know. I promise there will always be ice cream in the freezer, band aid cups will always be full, and I will try my hardest to tell those kids to get back to class. It was a true honor to care for you and be a part of your life. Ohana means family and I will always be there for anything your mom, dad, or sisters need. This is not goodbye, it?s see you later. I love you buddy ? Nursey "
