Sandra Ruth Massie
September 20, 1945 - December 11, 2023

With her daughter holding her hand and her family surrounding her, Sandra Ruth Massie, 78, went to meet her Lord and Savior on December 11, 2023. Sandra was born in Washington, Indiana, September 20, 1945, to Harold and Mary Ruth (Grannan) Massie. She later made her home in Carmel and Fishers, Indiana.

Sandra received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering from the Indiana Wesleyan University. She retired from the Naval Surface Warfare Center (commonly known as Crane) where she was an engineer. A woman of many talents and interests, Sandra enjoyed genealogy and gardening. She loved Bridge and participated in many tournaments. She was an avid Backgammon player. Sandra was a devoted Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Carmel, Indiana. She also attended Our Lady of Hope in Washington, Indiana. Sandra's love of history and her proud family ancestry led her to join the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Colonial Dames of America, and the First Special Service Force Association.

Those who now cherish Sandra's memory include: her daughter, Jillian (Kurt) Breidenstein of Fishers, Indiana; grandchildren: Harrison and Lucy Ruth Breidenstein; niece, Melissa (Peter) Wenzler of Grosse Pointe, Michigan; grandnieces: Grace Conrad, and Meredith Wenzler, grandnephews: Otto (Vashti) Wenzler, and James Wenzler. Sandra also leaves several beloved cousins and her best friend, Rosie Stuart.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Mary Ruth Massie; and her sister, Sharon Massie Jacobs.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sandra's memory to the Daviess County Community Foundation at 219 East Main Street, Suite B, Washington, Indiana 47501.

Visitation for Sandra Ruth Massie will be 10:30 - 11:30 am, Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 315 NE 3rd Street, Washington, Indiana.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Sandra Ruth Massie immediately following the visitation on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, and begin at 11:30 am, also at our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Father Paul Ferguson will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery.
