Pamela was born December 27, 1948, in Ames, Iowa to Donald & Isabelle Hillis and graduated from Story City High School in 1967. She taught school in Ft. Dodge, Lake City, and Rockwell City. She married William Horan in 1980 and they divorced in 2013. She moved to Des Moines and loved being with family and friends. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Hope and was on the Hospitality Team. She was a member of the YMCA and loved her aqua aerobics. She loved her PEO sisters in Chapter HX and belonged to their book club along with the Blue Roof Book Club in her condo.
She is survived by her son Michael of Colfax, IA and Megan (Dan) Williams of Cave Creek, AZ; two granddaughters (Maddie and Bryleigh); sister Barbara (David) of Cedar Rapids and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Isabelle Hillis, and her brother, Roger Hillis, and her nephew, Jason Owenson.
Visitation will be (17, November, 2023) with family present 1 hour before the service at Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines at the Chapel.
