Patricia "Pat" Malcom, 78 of Glenwood, IA, formerly of Malvern, IA passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the CountryHouse Residence for Memory Care in Council Bluffs, IA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood with Pastor Susan Reed officiating. Burial will be in the Silver City Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be held two hours prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Glenwood is caring for Pat and her family.

OBITUARY
Patricia Ann Malcom, 78 of Council Bluffs, IA, formerly of Glenwood and Malvern, IA, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023 at CountryHouse Memory Care in Council Bluffs.

Pat was born on May 27, 1945 in Council Bluffs, one of three children of Benjamin Swain and Lauraine Alice (Fickel) Breeding. She grew up in Malvern and graduated from the Malvern High School with the Class of 1963 "Go Orioles!"

Pat and Robert Adon Malcom were married on September 27, 1963 at the Methodist Church in Maryville, MO. They lived on several farms in Mills County before moving to live in Malvern. The couple was blessed with two daughters, Trisha and Christine.

Pat was the area "Avon Lady". She sold real estate for Century21 and Jim Hughes Real Estate, and helped Bob with the three trailer home parks they owned and maintained in Malvern. They purchased Randy's Tastee Sweet in Malvern in 1996, renamed it Pat's Place, operating the business until their retirement in 2005.

Pat and Bob loved spending time at their trailer at Texas Trails in Pharr, Texas during the winter months, and going to the Lake of the Ozarks during the summer.

Pat and Bob relocated to a townhouse in Glenwood briefly, and then moved to the CountryHouse Residence for Memory Care in Council Bluffs.

Pat and Bob were married almost 60 years when Bob passed away on September 19, 2023. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Lauraine; and sister Sandra Blank Lobsinger.

Pat is survived by her daughters, Trisha Malcom and companion James Whitfield, Jr of Wichita, KS, and Christine Miller and husband Scott of Glenwood; three granddaughters, Danisha Brinklow and husband Cem, and their daughter Evelyn, Sydney Miller, and Samantha Miller; brother Bruce Breeding and wife Debbi of Malvern; brother-in-law Dale Malcom and wife Diane of Glenwood; other relatives and many special friends.

"My deepest sympathies to the Malcolm family. Pat was the best Avon lady and growing up we looked forward to her visits. At some point in high school, she nicknamed me Gertrude and I loved it. She asked me to paint the Pat?s Place lettering in the awning one summer too. She had an infectious personality and a warm hug whenever I needed it. She will be missed."
