In loving memory of

Dan Crimmins
May 23, 1959 - August 5, 2023

Daniel Thomas Crimmins, 64, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

Dan is preceded in death by his beloved father, Donald Crimmins, who he deeply missed. He is survived by his two sons of Fort Dodge; Brendan (Emily) Crimmins and their children Everett, Henry, and Owen; Patrick (Hilary) Crimmins of Fort Dodge and their children Colt, Clay, and a baby on the way; and his Punky, Sarah Crimmins of Denver, CO. Also the mother of his children Tracy (Garner) Crimmins, mother Kathleen (Wyatt) Martin, sisters Shelly (Steve) Doster and Christine (John) McKinley and all their children. In addition to his many friends.

Dan was born May 23, 1959 in Fort Dodge and graduated from Barnum High School in 1977. After high school, he moved to Texas where he met Tracy. Dan was a self-taught meticulous carpenter, specifically a cabinet builder. All his work was finished perfectly. He shared that love of building with his sons and his grandsons. They spent hours with him in his very organized workshop. If you know Dan, everything has a spot. Dan traveled often and worked as a civilian contractor during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He found peace and comfort with family, being outdoors, and attending annual White House Jesuit Retreats in St. Louis, MO with his good friend, Joe Martin. Dan was an avid reader, food (especially dessert) enthusiast. He loved kayaking, golfing, skydiving, and riding dirt bikes.

Dan held many titles in his life, from carpenter to truck driver but his favorite roles were being a father and grandfather. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family. So much so that he coached high school golf to spend time with his sons, in addition to their annual camping trip in Pitkin, CO with family and good friend Terry Van Ornum. Dan always encouraged his children to have fun and follow their hearts, no matter what. He always knew how to live life to the fullest. As Dan would say, "it's all good".

Celebrating the Life of Dan, there will be a come and go visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Saturday, August 12, 2023 in the chapel of Laufersweiler Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Barnum.
