Dana Elise Gellert
May 17, 1988 - October 14, 2022

Passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 14, 2022 at age 34, at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center after a courageous battle with Stage 4 breast cancer. Dana was born on May 17, 1988 in Rochester, NY. She was the cherished daughter of Anita and the late Al Gellert. She was also predeceased by her grandparents Albert Powers, Alfred and Philomena Gellert. As well as her mother, she is survived by her brother, Alex Gellert of Lake Placid, NY; grandmother Evelyn Powers; aunts/uncles: Gerard (Patricia) Powers, Sonja Gellert-Powell (Rob Poorten), all of Rochester, NY; Judie Gellert-Zorr (Rich) of Canby, OR; cousins Alan Powell (Megan) of Rochester, NY; Michelle Roeger (Matt), Tonia Zorr (Nick), and Erich Roeger all of Oregon. She is also survived by her beloved kitty cats, Spanky and Ari and a host of dear friends in NY, CA, FL, and around the country.

After graduating from Bishop Kearney High School, Rochester, NY in 2006, Dana attended college in NYC for two years. She then moved to Miami, FL where she earned a license in massage therapy in 2010. Her ambition was always to live in California. She realized her dream in 2015, when she moved to West Hollywood. She finally settled in Burbank in 2018, where she found her new home. Dana had a zest for life, making friends wherever she went. She will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, sense of adventure, her unique creativity, and her love for animals. Her indomitable spirit and courage will forever be admired by her family and friends. Her smile inspired everyone she met, even her most casual acquaintances. We love you, Dana, and we will miss you every day. May you rest in peace and be blessed with all the comfort and love you deserve for eternity.
