Barbara Huff, 84, of Glenwood, IA passed away at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs on Saturday, June 10, 2023. Memorial service and luncheon will be held in Michigan at a later in the summer. Loess HIlls Funeral Home in Glenwood is caring for Barbara and her family.

OBITUARY
Barbara Ann (Satterwhite) Huff, 84 of Glenwood, IA, passed away peacefully, June 10th, 2023 at 12:30 a.m., at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA.

Barbara was born on September 4th, 1938, in Wardell, MO, the daughter of Earl Mitchell and Ocie Pearl (Defoe) Satterwhite. She was employed as a waitress for 25 years until she retired, serving the public in several areas, including Holly's Grill in Benton Harbor, MI and Holly's Landing in St. Joseph, MI, winning service pins and awards for her excellent service, in the mid 1960's and 1970's.

Barbara enjoyed difficult crossword puzzles, picture puzzles, gardening, watching the wildlife while having lunch at the local lake park, and being independent.

Barbara married Maurice Huff on March 23rd, 1990. Maurice passed away on January 20th, 2003. Barbara lived in Marcellus, MI for 15 years before moving to Glenwood, IA in 2005.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, U.S. Army Korean War Purple Heart Veteran Jerry Franklin Satterwhite, U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran Larry Thomas Satterwhite, and U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran Gary Max Satterwhite. Sisters, Wanda Joy (Satterwhite) Rogers and Clara Fayrene (Satterwhite) Perkey.

She is also, preceded in death by husbands, (Father of her children) Mack Thornill Jr., Vernon O. "Budd" Moreland and Maurice Huff.

Barbara is survived by siblings, Billie Dare (Satterwhite) Ryan and Gloria Elaine (Satterwhite) Riggs. Children, Jeannette K.(Thornhill) (Patrick) Collins, Veteran U.S. Air Force E6 Technical Sgt Crew Chief Mark L. Thornhill, Julie R. (Thornhill) (David) Kimp, U.S. Army Veteran Michael L. Thornhill.

Surviving grand children are, Joshua (Autumn), Justin, Caleb, Jacob (Carrie), Jessica (Matt), Brandon (Jillian), Ryan (Cassandra), Amanda (Matthew), Cory, Christopher (Angelica), Tyler, Jason (Rebecca) and Bradley. Great grandchildren, Brayden, Joslyn, Liberty, Wyatt, Aubrey, Ethan, Virginia, Silas, Fiona, Avallene, Lisette, Laurel, Jacob, Clara, Mack, Naomi, Ashton, Jack, Meadow, Jackson, Chase, Madeline, Aubrey and Lennon, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
