Greece: May 28, 2023. Shawn is predeceased by his father, David Kogler. He is survived by his children, Drew Kogler, Adam Kogler, & Kara Kogler; mother, Margaret (Tim Williams) Ziegler; sister, Carrie (Mark Rector) Cacia; grandparents, Joseph & Doris Ziegler, & Jeannine Freisner; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, & dear friends.

Shawn was born in Santa Ana, California on February 15, 1973, to mom, Marge Ziegler, and older (by 360 days) sister, Carrie. As a child, Shawn enjoyed fishing and watching sports. He attended and graduated from Greece Olympia Highschool. He worked in the receiving department at St. John Fisher University.

After Highschool he went on to join the Marine Corps., where he would serve 4 years for our country. He received several medals during his service, a Certificate of Commendation, a Meritorious Unit Commendation, a Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, a Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal, a Rifle Expert Badge, and a Pistol Sharpshooter Badge.

The highlights of Shawn's world were his 3 children, Drew, 17, Adam, 15, & Kara, 12. He loved watching them participate in their sports and tried to attend each and every one of their games and spend as much time with them as possible. Shawn's life story will be shared during his visitation, Wednesday, May 31st, 3-7 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane, (Between 390 & Long Pond Rd.). His interment in Western NY National Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Aurora House, 2495 S.
