Kevin was born in Fort Dodge on March 11, 1936. He was raised outside of Moorland and graduated from Barnum High School in 1954. He served in the United States Army as a Tank Operator from 1955 until his early honorable discharge in 1956 as the result of an accident to his dad at the farm. On July 7, 1962, he was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Lawler at St. Matthews Church in Clare. The couple made their home outside of Moorland where they raised their family and farmed. Kevin was very proud of his farm being listed as a Heritage Farm being owned for more than 150 years. He always made sure to make everyone in the family feel important. The couple loved to go dancing. "I hope to see all of you, Kevin's family, tomorrow(31st) evening but in case I don't I want all of you to know that my growing up in the community, Clare, I enjoyed many good times with your Dad. It was good seeing him at Mass Sunday mornings in Manson and wish I had known he was in the Good Samaritan Home because I often stopped there after Mass to visit. May you all find comfort knowing he is now resting in peace and enjoying his eternal reward. I will keep all of you in my tho'ts and prayers. Maureen"
