Charles "Chuck" Gernhart
July 25, 1954 - May 4, 2023

Charles (Chuck) Gernhart, 68, of Coalville, passed away Thursday, May 4th, 2023, at Trinity Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 9th at 10:00 AM in the chapel of the Laufersweiler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Holaday Creek Cemetery, just east of Coalville. A visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Chuck is survived by his wife Beth, children Zane (Corrine) Gernhart of Lincoln, NE, and Kara (Justin) Stumpf of Otho, grandchildren Ezra Zane and Parker, siblings Kathy (Dennis) Dahlstrom, Susan (Larry) Paul, Bill (Peggy) Gernhart, Scott Gernhart, Lynn (Sven) Swanson, Laurie (Dana) Hotz and Kristine (Ron) Clough, brother-in-law Patrick Fallon, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Helen (Jordison), brother Jeffrey Gernhart, sisters Melissa Gernhart and Cyndi Fallon, and 2 Angels in Heaven.
Charles Blaine Gernhart was born on July 25, 1954, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1972. On June 19, 1979, he was united in marriage to Beth Harris and the couple established their home in Coalville. From 1987 to 2018 he worked as a mechanic at Silgan where he retired from. Chuck then went to work at Iowa Central Community College part time where he was still employed. He was the past President of the Fort Dodge Rifle and Pistol Club. Chuck was a Teacher in his church - Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He will always be remembered for his humble spirit. Chuck loved his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
